The Name Hyderabad
One popular theory behind the name of Hyderabad was that Quli Qutb Shah fell in love and married a local girl ,Bhagyamathi and named this city after her. Upon her conversion to Islam, she changed her name to Hyder Mahal and the new city's name was correspondingly changed to match it, resulting in the name Hyderabad.
